Description

In late 2017, the Victorian Government announced plans to trial a medically supervised injecting room (MSIR) at the North Richmond Community Health site at 23 Lennox Street, Richmond.

The decision is part of the Government’s $87 million Drug Rehabilitation Plan and will help tackle the high number of drug-related overdoses in North Richmond.

The MSIR aims to reduce overdose deaths and overdose harm, improve neighbourhood amenity for local residents and businesses and reduce the number of discarded needles and syringes in neighbouring public areas.

The room will open in mid-2018, and we are committed to engaging with residents and tenants in the North Richmond community to address any questions you may have.

You are invited to attend an information session hosted by the Department of Health and Human Services and North Richmond Community Health.

The session will be held on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 at 7:00pm at Richmond Union Bowling Club, 2 Gleadell St, Richmond.

People wishing to attend Tuesday’s session must register for the event as numbers are limited.
